Top 5 articles of 2018
As the year draws to a close, it’s that time again when we look back and see what were the most read articles on our blog in 2018. There were a few surprises, plus a few articles published in previous years which made a comeback.
In 2019 we look forward to continuing to be your one-stop-shop for all things faith and work in Australia.
But until then, here are your top 5 most read articles of 2018:
Originally published in 2016, this article came in second place in our top 5 of 2017. But this year it climbed one spot higher to be our most read of 2018. It addresses an issue which we consider to be the most important when it comes to faith and work. Work is one of the key means by which many of us define ourselves (and find our value and worth). In this article we explore the problems with this, and how the Gospel provides a way forward.
Also originally published in a previous year (2017) this is one of those surprise articles that found it’s way into the top 5 of 2018. In it we suggested four simple ways that Christians can leave their workplace well. Perhaps with so many of us changing jobs so often that’s why this piece continues to be so popular!
One of the temptations that we face each day is to believe the lie that we are self-sufficient. Perhaps nowhere is this more of a temptation than in the workplace where competency is so highly prized. In this short reflection we suggested three simple practices to employ in the workplace to demonstrate that we recognise our finitude and our need to ultimately rely on God for all things.
A really practical article specifically for those making the transition to the workplace. Written by our Welcome to Life@Work co-ordinator, Sharon Cheung, this explored three key things all new workers should remember.
Sneaking into our top 5 for the year was a short piece exploring the value of praying with others. In particular it was an encouragement for us to be meeting with other Christians specifically to pray about our work.
